Our Story. Our Mission.

Giving back to those who have given so much already—one outdoor experience at a time.

Finding Healing in the
Heart of Nature

Finding Purpose Outdoors Foundation is our way of giving back to those who have given so much already. We believe the outdoors can be a place of healing, purpose, and community. Through free hunting, fishing, and outdoor experiences, we connect Veterans, Gold Star Families, Active Duty Military, First Responders, and Medical Professionals with the peace and purpose that only nature can provide.

Every experience is 100% free. Every dollar donated goes directly toward putting our heroes in the field. This isn't recreation—it's a mission.

From a Vision to a Mission

What started as a calling to serve became a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit—built by people who believe in the healing power of the outdoors.

FPO Founded in Carthage, TX

Stephen Armstrong and Kathy Yost Armstrong founded Finding Purpose Outdoors Foundation as a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit in Carthage, East Texas—driven by a deep conviction that nature can heal what modern life often cannot.

Our Core Values

Service

We exist to serve those who have served us. Every trip, every event, every dollar is dedicated to our heroes.

Community

Brotherhood and connection are at the heart of everything we do. No one heals alone.

Healing Through Nature

The outdoors has a power that no prescription can replicate. A deer stand at sunrise can change everything.

Accessibility

Every experience is completely free. Cost should never stand between a hero and the healing they deserve.

Faith

Rooted in faith and guided by purpose. We believe God works through the stillness of nature and the bond of community.
