About This Event
FPO and VFW Post 1799 Hunting & Fishing Recreation Team present an opening-day dove hunt. More than a hunt — it’s outdoor therapy. FPO and VFW Post 1799 are providing a place to heal, connect, and find purpose through the outdoors. Because no one should battle in silence. Combat PTSD, depression, anxiety & loneliness through camaraderie, purpose & resilience. For 7 VFW participants. Stronger together — two organizations, one mission.
What to Expect
- Guided experience with experienced Pro Staff
- All gear and equipment provided
- Meals and refreshments throughout the day
- Transportation from meeting point to activity grounds
- Small group size for personalized experience
- Photography to capture your adventure
What to Bring
- Valid Texas hunting license (we can help you get one)
- Weather-appropriate clothing and sturdy boots
- Personal medications
- Positive attitude and willingness to connect
- Sunscreen and hat (West Texas sun is no joke)
Event Schedule
- 4:00 AM Meet at designated staging area
- 4:30 AM Safety briefing and gear distribution
- 5:00 AM Depart for activity grounds
- 5:30 AM Activity begins
- 10:00 AM Break for lunch and fellowship
- 11:00 AM Afternoon session
- 2:00 PM Wrap-up, photos, and debrief
- 3:00 PM Return to staging area
